Blog Stuff: Urggh... Saturday...

If you walk up to someone at this time of year and greet them with a cheery "Merry Christmas!" and they respond by curling into a fetal ball and whimpering or by punching you in the mouth, then it's a safe bet they work in retail...

I think you were civil and helpful this evening. Maybe a little remote, but I sure it had been a long day, and you don't know me from Adam. Thanks.

I have done retail during the holidays. Hey, at least you're not selling game boy games at Circuit City.

I remember asking the new manager to get me an empty fridge box so I'd have a place to put all the security boxes. He was baffled, but complied. I filled up the box twice in two days. Stressful.

But then, the game boy games people bring into circuit city don't have a tendancy to launch bits of metal at supersonic speads...

elmo's twin,

No, "Happy Kwanzaa" or "Happy Channukah" don't have quite the same impact as "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays", because I haven't heard the former two 673,712,917 times since Thanksgiving.

Mr. Pate,

That brightened my whole day. :)

It could be worse, Tamara...

You could be working at Wal-Mart.
