Am I not merciful?

Marko proves he hasn't yet planted a vegetable garden.

Meanwhile, here where the neighbors would frown on indiscriminate small arms fire in the back yard, one of those %^&* striped rats got one of my tender little corn seedlings. (And hail beat three more flat.)

Tree rat meet "tucan", the the "twentytwo-can"...

;)

Either that or an air rifle...

So ... Mother Nature ... in various guises is 4-Nil. She is hard to beat.

However, I just looked out my window and saw Canada's only flying Lanc go by. The sound of those four Merlin engines is a sure thing to induce shivers.

Better luck with the corn, Tam.

Regards,
George

You got to see a flying Lanc!!! Lucky bastard. . . .

Solution: Aguila .22 Colibri (not Super Colibri, that's too loud). Even from a revolver it sounds like a firecracker, not a gun shot.

Thats what they make Cans for... Striped rats was one of my reasons for my integral 22.

We're using the airgun a few blocks down the road. It can still be loud, but the neighbors fireworks are louder.

Two words:

Air pistol.

For chipmunks, even a Crossman 760 air rifle works, and probably keeps the constabulary from getting too worked up. Use the lead hollowpoint pellets and 8 pumps for seedling-saving goodness. They're about $39 at your local WalMart.
