Anticipation...

A little birdie has informed me that there should be a package from ParaUSA waiting for me at my fave little gun shop today.

(Incidentally, you may want to give them a call if you're looking for EBRs. Last time I was in there right before the election, they had a good stock of ARs and stripped lowers, and they're a small shop that is off the beaten path. They also had a nice collection of reasonably priced consignment guns from a collection, including prewar S&W and Colt revolvers, an '03 and a Trapdoor, a very early Winchester '94, etc...)

I keep waiting for my Para package to show up... again... for the 3rd time.

Yes mine has been gone a week now, they said it would take 2-3 weeks

Was in a local shop yesterday, the EBRs are getting REALLY picked over, and WASR-10s are selling for more than $500!

Still in the case they had a Colt 1902 in very good condition for $2100. I thought of you, and that great write-up in the Arms Room

Someone needs to tell them to make the pictures on their page a lot smaller. They're way too dense for the web.

Hmm, that first picture is over 2.5MB alone. They must have taken them straight from the camera without any post-processing to make them more web-friendly...just for giggles, I downloaded the first pic and was able to Photoshop it down from 3072x1728 to 640x360 and got it clear down to 259KB -- something like 90% smaller -- without any loss of clarity.

Don't get me wrong: I love the pics, but my first inclination was to kill the browser window and not bother with it.

FC, that's a niche market I'm trying to invade. Gun stores that have shitty web sites.

See, I'm all about bartering. I can prettify their page, they can stock me full of ammo and things to use the ammo in and everyone comes out happy.

Give 'em a call Robb, what can it hurt?

(The owner's name is Greg, btw.)

Folks on INGO forum say they were nearly out of EBRs. They are selling FAST!

I picked up a couple of Colt LE6920s and a couple of AK WASR10s at the show last weekend along with several thousand rounds of ammo for each.

I'd be mighty interested to see a write up by you on the Arms Room about the Colt LE 6920.

Most folks say I'm just buying a name these days but I have found them to be very reliable and accurate AR15s.

What do you think?

If they are your buddies, tell them that the photo (of the shop) on their web page really does not have to be 2.3 megs. Acquaint them with JPEG compression.

WV: Steto. An Italian proofreader's mark?

I agree with Chas, and it must be costing them quite a bit in bandwidth charges. I'll trade a hat for the labour to scale them down if they're interested? Jim

tam, speaking of barter, here's hoping your "fave little gun shop" is throwing a little quid pro quo (or just quid) your way for this promo...can't buy that kind of advertising.

still can't believe you're not behind a counter taking advantage of the obooma in gun sales.
