A crisp fall morning in Broad Ripple...

Hopped over to Locally Grown Gardens this morning, where I was greeted with a cheery "Good morning, Tamara!" from the proprietor, Ron. It's like grocery shopping in Cheers.

Picked up some farm-fresh eggs, an onion, and double handful of fingerling potatoes for Bobbi's breakfast project. Also a couple bottles of Fentiman's Dandelion & Burdock soda and some sesame & sea salt tortas from Ines Rosales for snacking later.

It's so cool having a place like that just a stone's throw away. I sure do loves me some Broad Ripple.

There is a distinct lack of bacon to this posting, which I am concerned about.

Are you feeling yourself?

Well, duh! We already had bacon at home. :)

You can run out of eggs, but you top up the coffee and bacon supplies when you notice them running low...

If you start wearing Birkenstocks, I don't want to know.

(would Tevas count as tactical Birkenstocks...?)

I'm jealous! There are farm stands in the area, but none-close enough, or open early enough, to hit to pick up stuff for breakfast regularly.

I hate to bleg before having had a chance to shake your hand, but if you could see your way to hauling a couple-some of that dandelion soda with you next week to Colorado, I could very easily be convinced to raid the stores of beer-not-brewed-for-the-party in exchange. LabRat and I would quite like to try that, and have certainly never seen it around here.

Dangit! THIS "double handful of fingerling potatoes" caused me to fry up some potatoes.

Mmmmm, starchy tubers...

You make your chosen homeplace sound so warm and giving that it's hard to believe you reside in such a large city. Home is where you make it, your friend's are and thing's to do that make you smile.

Within what is called Broad Ripple, is there or could there be a gun seller?

It does seem that an owner-operated neighborhood-type shop offering better and collectible guns and accessories, good advice/discussion, and maybe some light custom work, would fit with the other cool boutiqueish businesses you have described there, and certainly with the general Hoosier attitude towards firearms. And one would think such a place would be a success...you'd go wouldn't you? I would.

Unless there are some radical changes as described in your EIEIO post, I will probably never be an FFL again. But if I were going to, something like I've described here, heavy on the vintage iron that I so crassly ignored before, would be attractive to me, and I believe also to the customer base within the area. My question is, would it be allowed there?

Thanx to your repeated mention of Fentiman's products, I tried the Dandelion & Burdock. And liked it.
