Double standard?

The left side of the blogosphere has been frothing at the mouth over the allegations that Herman Cain engaged in some inappropriate grabassery with underlings at some point in his business career.

This is completely inappropriate! How can the HuffPo set possibly trust a man who allegedly abuses the power imbalance between himself and his female subordinates? We need to get to the bottom of these rumors and find out the truth!

Quick! Somebody call Ken Starr and see if he's got some free time in his schedule!

Everyone wants to be the Ken Starr charactere; no one volunteers to play the Vince Foster.

Well, I guess it depends on your Definition of Sexual Harassment. Do you spell it "Is" or "is"?

What was the "Settlement"? 45k? If I had $45k for everytime some woman I work with said something sexually suggestive to me, I'd be able to buy indiana.

if it turns out he was actually grabassing and trying to get the women in question to shake hands with his one eyed trouser snake, then I'll be concerned. Meanwhile, it sounds like some prissy bitches getting upset at being called "Darling" or something equally innocuous to adults. I remember Clarence Thomas. Second verse, same as the first

Heh. I'll stick to appropriate grabassery thanks. The other kind might result in this:

"If you touch me, I'll kill you."

And if she didn't, my little 5 ft. nothing Georgia girl would.

Nothing like fear for his life to keep a perv's hands at his side.

Have you read "Talking to myself again" yet this morning?

Carteach nailed it, as usual.

Tam,

No, this isn't double standard thinking.

This is "what I will put up with", vs. "what I can hurt you with".

We will not and can not stop bullying in school and on the internet when adults continue to use character attacks for political advantage.

Brad K, well said.

Ken Starr is currently president of Baylor University, in lovely Waco, Texas.

Baylor is, of course, a well-known Baptist enclave.

And the football team is 4-3 at the moment, so I think he's probably got time to spare.

Has MoveOn.org released anything condemning Cain for his indiscretion?

Comparisons aside, this guy ain't Clarence Thomas...more like Bill Clinton in many ways.

Still, I'd take him before the two faces of O that are the likely Dem and Pub choices.

Hell, for that matter I'd take ol' Bill his ownself.

Maybe we should ask Mary Jo Kopechne how she handled her settlement? Oh, wait......never mind.
