"If you blink, you'll die in the dark."

Bob Vogel absolutely smokes the P-T.com FAST Test:

That is almost exactly one third of the time it took me to do my best run yet at an AFHF class.

Watching these really fast guys, the thing that always impresses me is their incredible economy of motion; there's not a bit of extraneous herky-jerky to their movements.

Eh, that's not all that impressive.

I can do that in Call of Duty every time.

*heads off to pick his jaw off the ground*

I *might* be able to shoot that fast. *Might*.

Hitting anything other than the ground, OTOH...

3.34 seconds, immediately after a gazillion hours of practice.

The hope being, of course, that the 'tard robber or rapist wannabe will be stunned to see yer smokewagon appear in the first place, so your action beats his re-action. "Calm down, dude! I got a fifty, is that ok? Hi, officer Jones!" BLAM-BLAM-BLAM! The trick is to have a simple plan to ensure the catastrophic failure of his/her victim selection process.... JohninMd(help!)

The draw is fast but the splits and reload are smoking.

Dave Sevigny could shoot two IDPA qualifiers and eat a hamburger and large fries and wash it down with a Coke in the time it takes me to shoot one.

It is fun to watch.

Heck, you can grow the wheat for the burger's bun before I get done.

It's almost like he does it for a living. :)

"incredible economy of motion"

Which is something that characterizes most people with coordination relayed skills.

I recall seeing a high speed video a of two surgeons, one a newbie, the other a very experienced one who was generally known as very good surgeon.

They had tied tiny IR emitters to t the fingers hands and arms, and you could see the traces on the camera pick up.

It was *Amazing" to see how much less "extraneous motion" the top guy moved than the newbie.

Apparently the same is true for soccer players, and fast typists. etc...

That's utterly beautiful.
I aspire to your speed, Tam, if you're only 3 times that. The reloads are awesom, but it's the ON TARGET splits that are awesome. Especiall that first one. Anyone who can go from beep to bang in under a second on a headshot can walk with pride.
