Sharps container III

Very small fixed blade "neck knives":
Randall King Knives Syphon (boron carbide coated)
Spyderco SPOT
Randall King Knives Snitch
John Shirley Super Daily Kiri

I really need to fix a belt loop to the Super Daily Kiri's sheath. It is such a superior little thing for the hundred-and-one daily chores a knife gets used for, from opening packaging to putting a point on a pencil, but I fumble around too much with a neck sheath. It's tiny enough that it would carry totally unobtrusively in a horizontal position on the belt. (In the sheath, the whole package is about 4"x1".)

I got one of those from John, too. Handy little thing, but you're right, necklace carry isn't the most useful on a daily basis. As a backup underneath a uniform shirt, it's great.

I actually carry a 'neck knife' on my lanyard at work(currently a Cold Steel Urban Pal') for general utility work, but with Christmas coming, that 'Snitch' looks pretty nice.
The two above it are also sweet looking, but a little more...'intimidating' for something I want to be seen carry around my neck at work, which I understand is not necessarily the reason they were intended for.

Greg,

Like Spyderco's "Civilian" model, the SPOT isn't much of a general utility blade at all.

May I request that when showing us the really neat stuff (I'm going to see about getting one of the Super Daily Kiris - it looks real handy) you include something like a quarter or dollar bill to show scale?

Some better pictures on one model for scale. No affiliation other than trying to figure out how to buy one.

Why would they name a knife "snitch?" In general I'm not in favor of snitching.

Back when I had to wear a magic card to get through the doors at work, I hung it on my belt; every time I had to bend over to pick something up/pull a floor panel/whatever, the damn thing got in the way if I wore it around the neck.

The other side: few years back a guy I'd sold a knife to(fixed-blade, about 5" long overall) told me he'd worn it as a neck knife on a trip through Europe and nobody seemed to even notice it; apparently just taken as a strange necklace.

Before reading further, understand that I hate myself for thinking this, but...

That 'Super daily Kiri' screams 'putty knife reworked in high school shop class' to me...

Phssthpok,

That's mostly due to the crappy 2D picture.

Nice ones! (Again)!!!

Your knife collection blows mine away. I wish I'd know more about the high-end knife business back when I had money to blow on such things. I still, sometimes, go look at stuff from Loveless, Elishewitz, Onion, et. al.

I have more CRKTs than anything else, and still nothing from Benchmade.

I think the internet is b0rken. Searching for that Kiri, I'm getting lots of stuff for Shirley MacLaine, and Kiri Te Kanawa. Looks as if I wanted one, I'd have to order direct from Sam Owens, but I can't find a site telling me how to do that. Xmas is coming, and I that would hit the spot.

Also, my brain/typing interface is b0rken.

Sorry, I was away at Fort Bragg for a school.

Sam Owens can be emailed directly at SamOwens1911(at)gmail.com. He has another batch of Daily Kiris that should be ready in about a month. I'll see if a belt sheath could be an option.
