I think we can all agree...

...that to even the moderately clueful, a vest like that only conceals what kind of gun you're carrying. That said, let's watch The Nicest Guy In The Shooting Sports:

or someone already stole all my camera/fishing equipment.

When I play IDPA dress-up I wear waders and the only problem I have is that during my draw stroke my sleeve gets caught on all the flies.

Remember, your responsibility to be ready for the fight, never ends!

Great video. I actually watched all fourteen minutes of it.

Nowadays my open carry is confined to around the property, in the woods, or when going for a walk on our little dead-end road. I OCd in public a few times when I first started carrying and my sin was not using a retention holster. Chalk it up to inexperience. I'd never do that now.

He's also absolutely right about your comportment when OCing. Something a significant percentage of OC activists don't seem to care about. It is important.

I don't doubt that cops and gunnies understand the point of vests but I question whether the general public or even criminals do. Plus where I live, a criminal would run out of ammo if he tried to shoot everyone wearing a vest. That is not to mention all the old ladies with fanny packs. I suppose it is possible that all those people are carrying but I somehow doubt it.

In my case, I conceal in other ways when I go to town. I do have a vest set up with all the paraphernalia I need for walking the dog. Just toss in on over the gun and go.

T-shirt under a Hawaiian print shirt either unbuttoned or partially buttoned. Just wish I could be as harmless as Jerry.

I began wearing a vest several years ago when I got tired of the stuff in my shirt pocket ending up at the bottom of the hole I was inspecting. When I was finally able to use it as a cover garment on a daily basis (being from ILAnnoy and all) it was a bonus. I have found that the one I wear is no more uncomfortable at 100 degrees than the T-shirt alone.

I agree with Richard I doubt that the general public notices at all.

Great video!

I've met a lot of people in competitive shooting and saying this, "That said, let's watch The Nicest Guy In The Shooting Sports" about any one of them sets an incredibly high bar and that makes me happy.
