Figured I'd shoot it at 5 yards as 3 would be cheating...... Yeah, uh, no...

I do note that the target rewards good triggers and punishes poor ones. Those of us with Glocks will have to work a bit harder.

Al T.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15907727.post-15299631323765388062010-11-14T11:32:10.729-05:002010-11-14T11:32:10.729-05:00I was introduced to and became a fan of the ten do...I was introduced to and became a fan of the ten dots two years ago.

Introduced same to the staff this year. It is a valuable drill for reinforcing basics and skill building. The challenge can be adjusted in several ways for the particular shooter.

Play with it and it will humble you. Keep playing until it no longer does; re-adjust parameters and it will humble you again. I'll keep the dot drill in the toolbox.Ancient Woodsmannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15907727.post-36825158281748015122010-11-14T10:06:53.415-05:002010-11-14T10:06:53.415-05:00Fred,

Getting everyone qualified to that point, and assuring that there are no "Bang! Oops!" incidents, requires more trust of the fellow shooter than some places are comfortable with.

Of course, I am thinking of Frank Gallops' "Ballad of Irving" here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U077BiDMmPEBrad K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/18378344866487206569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15907727.post-86427516908796096932010-11-14T09:50:15.116-05:002010-11-14T09:50:15.116-05:00If you think that's bad, try doing it at a ran...If you think that's bad, try doing it at a range that doesn't allow targets closer than 7 yards.

I've been doing the DOT test with the 3" circle targets at targetz.com to try to compensate for the extra distance at least a little bit.

Using Mr. Completely's target from an earlier e-postal match is similarly humbling.Laughingdoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07788824586959334168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15907727.post-23842573371032332532010-11-14T07:49:48.985-05:002010-11-14T07:49:48.985-05:00I am a fan.I am a fan.Robert McDonaldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01849168773343652368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15907727.post-14002197611614663332010-11-13T23:35:53.083-05:002010-11-13T23:35:53.083-05:00Another great drill.Another great drill.Tango Juliethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07593296126387219845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15907727.post-48332928398258031832010-11-13T23:07:11.431-05:002010-11-13T23:07:11.431-05:00I think firing from high retention if you're s...I think firing from high retention if you're stuck at a range that doesn't allow for holster use (which still boggles my mind) will still get most of the benefits of the drill.Fredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12141654754595945677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15907727.post-23223692377108931682010-11-13T22:24:22.115-05:002010-11-13T22:24:22.115-05:00*sigh* Yet another reason it sucks to have no loc...*sigh* Yet another reason it sucks to have no local ranges that allow drawing from the leather.
