ALL of which I seem to recall having on my boogerhooks at one time or another in _training_ environments. God help you trying it with gloves, especially cold weather ones. (Hmmm. . . maybe that's why it's not in the RUSSIAN manual of arms. . . ?)

To be perfectly honest, my preferred technique isn't as fast as this (when the Furry Gunjuggler here doesn't fumble it), but I don't recall EVER screwing it up so badly it cost me more than a minor gun bite.

It's rather simple -- left hand holds the gun without breaking grip(jamming butt into shoulder), right hand swaps mags, then right hand does a palm-up jerk on the charging handle, just like I was taught to run teh handle on an M60, M249, or M2HB to the rear. (You can also do it with palm facing you, fingers straight, like you're going to slap yourself in the nose - machs nichts.)

It ain't as cool looking as gunjuggling, and I'm sure Gabe Suarez disapproves, but _it_works_, it works _reliably_, it works on a wide variety of guns, and you're less likely to drop the damned gun. (With a gun with a portside charging handle, hold gun with right hand and load/charge with left - much like the modern AR technique.)

But, Hell, I'm so uncool that I figure any technique I can't do half asleep, hungover, with a sore hand, in the rain, is probably too complicated to do when a speed reload is essential. . .

WV: "barfe" How appropos. . .Geodkythttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09328915597574377444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15907727.post-55062241437749934492012-02-11T06:33:08.499-05:002012-02-11T06:33:08.499-05:00Maybe he should spend less time toying around with...Maybe he should spend less time toying around with circus tricks and hit the gym. It is about the only way I see that reload being somewhat usable.

Overall, just holding on the the short handle under lot of spring pressure as you try to force another mag out and then in is a really bad idea.
