One should not wish for things like an education, a better life for your children, etc.<BR/><BR/>"Polite" meaning "Show respect for your betters".<BR/><BR/>Tolkien grew up in the upperclasses of Victorian society. His family lived in Africa for awhile in a house full of servants. When the family relocated to England, the shift was to "Genteel Poverty" as he put it. All of his books reek of the Victorian class system.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15907727.post-28082669302224762532008-02-27T11:53:00.000-05:002008-02-27T11:53:00.000-05:00They'll have to go through and change all the part...They'll have to go through and change all the parts where they are smoking "pipeweed", also.BobGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15405172215849046373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15907727.post-90677000072840818562008-02-27T11:09:00.000-05:002008-02-27T11:09:00.000-05:00Have you ever read the McSweeney's faux Howard Zin...Have you ever read the McSweeney's faux Howard Zinn and 'Gnome' Chomsky commentaries on Lord of the Rings?
