But here in Maryland, almost nobody except cops can get a carry permit, so the irony always gives me a little chuckle. I generally had a great time dealing with those people. The gun shops I've visited have either been real good or real bad... the latter I tend to steer clear of while the former I tend to want to visit and see what they have his week. Went there once out of curiosity.<br /><br />MSRP+ puts it mildly. Maybe something bad happened in the store that day but I'd never seen a staff quite so surly and anti-social.<br /><br />If I ever went into the gun-buying-and-selling business, I'd insist that my sales associates wear jackets and ties (similar level of attire for the female sales associates).<br /><br />If people are willing to come into my store and pay the same kind of money they'd spend at a jeweler's, the people working there ought to look like they deserve that kind of money.<br /><br />It's far enough out of my way that it costs me nearly my entire lunch hour, but I get more shopping enjoyment out of the Tandy Leather Factory store on High School Road than I do at Don's Guns. In fact I have not eaten at a Mexican chain I like that is located in a place I frequent because they do not allow guns.<br /><br />Around here (Southern Arizona) one gun shop has a sign that says to have actions open and keep carry weapons in the holster or you will be asked to leave. The other has no such sign. <br /><br />It will be a cold day in hell before a gun store that doesn't think I have the right to carry will get my money.
