The fish oil base congeals when the solvent evaporates. I work for a locksmith and see the results of WD-40 on a regular basis.<br /><br />We use tri-flow, exclusively, for lock lube.<br /><br />If the lock gets water in it, lube choice is probably irrelevant. Heat will be the best (maybe only) answer.
