Why yes, that's S.W.A.T. Magazine right there in the center, (and my name is on the masthead even if it is in fine print!) We're winning.
Then I get home and the phone rings:
Marko: "Have you checked out Day By Day yet today?"Okay, that's frickin' awesome. It's a childhood dream come true: I totally need a copy to hang on the fridge. (And I don't care how many cool points I lost by picking Huck up and waltzing him around the kitchen singing "Hooray! I'm a comic book character now! I can hang out with Black Widow and Iron Man!")
Me: "No, why?"
Marko: "Seriously, just go check it out..."
That may be the first appearance of a Clark Custom pre-war S&W .38-44 Heavy Duty in DBD!
Awesome Tam!
ReplyDeleteaxeman
OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG!
ReplyDelete(he posted on mine recently too...)
(well, I was pleased he noticed me, at least.)
ReplyDeleteVery nice. You are now officially famous. :-)
ReplyDeleteSqueee!!
ReplyDeleteAnd we can all say we knew you back when you needed help with punctuation.
Well, to be fair, I think most of us wanna be Tam when we grow up ;p
ReplyDeleteNow, two of my favorites, VFTP and DBD are connected. Cool!
ReplyDeleteThat is Incredibly Awesome(tm).
ReplyDeletecongratulations, you have arrived.
ReplyDeleteYes, we all want to grow up to be Tam.
ReplyDeleteThough I'd look awful in that bikini pic.
I KNEW there was a reason I liked Chris Muir!
ReplyDeleteThat totally makes my day. Kudos O Mistress of Snark
ReplyDeleteI totally geeked out when I saw it! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome!
ReplyDeleteAs someone who, upon purchasing a copy of GURPS Traveller: Ground Forces, found himself featured in a sidebar as a posthumous recipient of the Starburst for Extreme Heroism, I know just how it feels to be mentioned, by name, in a fictional work intended for mass distribution. It feels [bowderlized] AWESOME! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteHat tip!
ReplyDeleteHe made you look awesome!
ReplyDelete!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTOO KEWL! ;^)'
Sweet!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, am I jealous.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite superhero!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait till you get the back page of Guns and Ammo!
Congrats!
ReplyDeleteYup, Awesome.
ReplyDeleteSo now that you're hangin' with Spidy and Iron Man and the gang, who's going to play you in the film?
ReplyDelete;-)

I'll be over here kicking rocks in the corner.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! That is covered in awesome sauce.
Hope Huck got the import of the moment. I'm thinking not.
We are in the presence of greatness!
ReplyDeleteRecognized you the moment I saw it too. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteCongrats. He captured you well.
ReplyDelete"Frickin' awesome" seriously understates the case.
ReplyDeleteThat was totally awesome!
ReplyDeleteCool.
ReplyDeleteYou're the first comic strip character I've met in person!
(not counting the dust-up with Spiderman that time...)
Squeeeeeee!!
ReplyDeleteTotally awesome.
John Bernard Books
Huck probably wondered "What Now?".
ReplyDeleteThat's totally cool. Congrats!
Cool beyond measure.
ReplyDeleteI stopped by to congratulate you but was way, way too late. Congratulations anyway.
ReplyDeleteNow,may he'll have you and Sam hanging out on the beach in your bikinis next? (hope, hpe)
Prints available any time soon!? Signed! Signed prints?
ReplyDeleteAh, to be immortalized.
ReplyDeleteYou go, girl! (that is the correct usage, yes?)
Now, can we get you, or your character, onto the big screen?
I'm totally geeking out. :)) Someday I'll look back and say "well, no we never met but I bought her a book" :)
ReplyDeleteWowee!
ReplyDeleteWow-wow-wow!
P.S. I noticed that the cartoon is a link to your blog.
ReplyDeleteWhat? Wait. What didja do, go to Fla. to get Sam to tune the Beemer, get some range time w/ her and Zed, and did'nt tell Rx you were going? DANG!! :-D. CONGRATS! JohninMd(help)
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteGreen with envy here. Well, greener (used to be before too because you can shoot, and are quite a bit younger and a lot slimmer than I am :p).
Sweet!! The planets are aligning.
ReplyDeleteCame by as soon as I saw it this morning.
ReplyDeleteCongrats. You get a pile of 'cool points' for that one.
Bah. I thought it was the Wolf & Klar model.

Congrats. As a new comic book hero do you get to pick your secret super power?
Radagast, she delivers deadly snark at the speed of light, why would she NEED another super power?
ReplyDelete;-)
Too bad Chris doesn't have comments. We could be congratulating HIM on his eminent good taste.
ReplyDeleteM
There's no stopping her now. BWAAAHAAHAAHAA!!
ReplyDeleteVery cool, Tam.
Tres Cool!
ReplyDeleteWell Deserved.
Gerry
That's got to be the gunblog equivalent to the cover of Rolling Stone.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the Left, you've always been a comic book character.
ReplyDeleteMy first click in the morning is to DBD. The second is VFTP.
That was so cool.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for ID'ing the revolver. I knew it had to be a S&W of some sort, but couldn't tell exactly what.
Rob (Trebor)
Holy smokes.
ReplyDeleteNext stop: Tam, the newest Avenger.
ReplyDeletejf
Yay Tam!
ReplyDeleteInstantly recognized you on DBD.
GREAT START TO THE DAY! Like GBW, DBD is the first click and VFTP is the second...
ReplyDeleteGood on both you and Chris Muir!
I squeed!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Tam.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't mind, please pass on my big-ups to Mr. Hulk on his Loki handling skillz.
Aren't they in negotiations to get Sissy Spacec to play Tam?
ReplyDeleteRich in NC
I for one welcome our new social media coordinator overlord.
ReplyDeleteMay death come quickly to her enemies.
Any chance of your putting in a good word with Tony Stark? I could use some of those powered prosthetics he's so handy with...
ReplyDeleteWho is going to play her in the movie?
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking Charlize Theron.
So, what color of cape and tights are you going to get?
ReplyDeleteBobG, I don't think Tam's going to be the cape and tights sort. I see her as attired in mildly tactical clothing, not mall-ninja-ish at all.
ReplyDeleteBut her super power is to produce seemingly infinite amounts of concealed firearms, taclights, knives, magazines/speedloaders, etc from the many pockets of whatever she's wearing, very much like the Highlander (Connor or Duncan) could always pull a 3" katana out of whatever he happened to be wearing at the time.
Scene: Abandoned Warehouse
Mook Number 1: Boss, we gots Lady Snark tied up in the back.
Boss: She give you any trouble?
Mook Number 2: Well, Mooks 3 and 4 had to step outside to calm down after she made dem cry. She had some t'ings to say about dey Yoonion that didn't sit right wit dem, being from big Yoonion families and all.
Boss: And you two mugs soiched 'er, did ya?
Mook Number 1: Oh, yeah, you shouldn't seen the haul. I picked up dis sweet flashlight outta dere. Duct taped 'er to a chair.
Boss: I'm gonna go out onna limb and say you two missed a few t'ings. One, some kinda knife good fer cutting duct tape. Two, a shot timer. And three, a Colt Model 1902 Pocket Hammerless chambered in, at a guess, .32 ACP. Ask me how I know.
SFX: BEEEEEEP! followed by gunfire
3' not 3". I apologize for stuttering.
ReplyDeleteAnon is right: Charlize Theron.
ReplyDeleteNow she can provide some gun handling training and weapon selection advice to Black Widow in person!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Tam! Nice Work Mr. Muir
Nice!!
ReplyDeleteAntibubba
Social Media Coordinator... does that, by chance, mean that you're the one who posts the S.W.A.T. Magazine Facebook wall posts I'm always liking?
ReplyDeleteMuir is a racist hack that traces all his "cartoons" from porn.
ReplyDeleteMonteG,
ReplyDeleteYes.
Congrats! Post a pic when Huck flys by a remote control! :-)
ReplyDeleteCIII
It would be a Heavy Duty.
ReplyDeleteTam, do you have the ability to get the IP address of the post of Mr Anonymous from 8:10 PM, June 05, 2012? I'm of the opinion that that sort of statement deserves to be backed by the full reputation of the individual that made it.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS! I knew you had it in you.
ReplyDeletedad
Yes, but does today's strip (6/6/12) mean that you're going to be seen shooting down an Obama drone soon?
ReplyDeleteHmmm, what gun for that?
Congrats, news of your badassery is spreading.
ReplyDeleteYou know who else is a cartoon? Larry Freakin' Correia, that's who. That's some pretty exclusive company you're keeping there.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!!
Larry,
ReplyDelete"You know who else is a cartoon? Larry Freakin' Correia, that's who."
Yeah, me and Larry Correia were hanging out with Batman and Psylocke and Wolverine at the Hall of Justice last night, and I said "Larry," ('cause we're all tight and first-name like that,) "y'know what we oughtta go do to COBRA?..."
The new one's up. Watch the skies!
ReplyDeleteBack when I was a kid, back in the 1980's, COBRA was the enemy of GI Joe. When did COBRA start going after the Superfriends, etc?
ReplyDeleteDang, head to the boonies for a couple of days and look at what I missed! Awesome Tam!
