As a truly disinterested party (Bears fan ...Buzz,

As a truly disinterested party (Bears fan from infancy; the Colts are Johnny-come-latelies to me, despite the fact that I was in my 20s when they came to town), please allow me to make the point that Peyton Manning is, in fact, a certified phenom. He is a field general without peer.

That said, he is a phenom with lousy ownership and management that never bothered to look for someone to truly understudy him and prepare to be his replacement. You want to blame somebody for 1-1 Super Bowls and a 2-12 record this year? Blame Jimmy the drug addict and the Polians who couldn't see past the end of their noses as to the need to ensure a viable successor for their aging QB.

Something tells me Eli has had a different experience in New York, which may have bearing on his accomplishing so much at a much younger age than his brother.Fuzzy Curmudgeonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03802539927743643041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15907727.post-59068176622843810712012-02-06T18:08:48.855-05:002012-02-06T18:08:48.855-05:00I like the Midwestern modesty evinced by the gigan...I like the Midwestern modesty evinced by the gigantic-humongous bigass super-sized out-house that hides the stadium. It beats the hell out of the usual giant circular toilet-shaped venue with a dome cover/lid than most places have.NotClauswitzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14358707844087117280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15907727.post-67988676160267364542012-02-06T17:32:12.305-05:002012-02-06T17:32:12.305-05:00I'm glad the Giants won, but the extremely rar...I'm glad the Giants won, but the extremely rare, yet "to script," drops by Branch and Welker certainly ensured "Mr. Dreamy" went home empty-handed to his supermodel wife.

I liked how Eli deflected the "brother's house" comment in the post game interview. Eli has accomplished more in less time than his older sibling. The sooner Indy stops its worship of the one dimensional phenom, the better the Colts will be.Buzznoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15907727.post-78865029965418478592012-02-06T11:25:32.727-05:002012-02-06T11:25:32.727-05:00hootie11bravo,

The parallels between the two were interesting.

Low-scoring games. The favored team is leading going into the second half. The underdog takes the lead in the closing minutes after inspired drives and a miraculous catch. The favored team has one more drive and the clock runs out with a failed scoring attempt after a dramatic drive...

Good drama.
