One of the amazing things about Russia, Kazakhstan etc is how all the traditional "country practices" still flourish there, and somehow survived the Soviets. (Also, many kept guns right through that time whether legal or not-- amazing). One Mongolian Kazakh friend made me grin when he showed me two guns. "This" (holds up Baikal single- shot shotgun) "I have permit for. This" (holds up fulll auto AK) "I do not".
