Boomsticks: Revolver lust...

We got our first S&W 50th Anniversary Model 29 in at the shop.

I'd give you a detailed review of how it looked and felt, but I barely saw it, as it lasted only about two hours on the shelf before finding a new home.

Maybe the next one will be in the shop long enough for me to scrutinize.

Speaking of revolver lust, Marko has it bad...

  1. Only problem I saw with that model was that it was not really made to do a lot of shooting with 44 mags; it did fine with 44 specials, but the people I knew who did a lot of shooting of full power magnums ended up with timing problems, and had to take them in for some gunsmith work.

  2. Always liked the .44. Mine is the 626 4in. Smith always did make a fine revolver.

With all of my autos and even with my baby (1911A1) I still like the feel of a good revolver. Never felt under gunned. Heck, just bought a like-new Ruger Security-Six .357 this just this morning.

  3. Security-Six is a good revolver; I have a GP100 in 357, several Blackhawks, and a Redhawk (which is basically a large frame Security-Six). Have owned more Ruger wheelguns than any other brand.
