if you like bunnies and pancakes, which by the way i am not assuming that you do.....check this out.....no pancakes however..... www.potentiallynervous.blogspot.com
Call me jaded, cynical or un-feeling, but that little tale sounds too much like one of those "stay the course" propaganda tug-at-the-heartstring stories I keep getting through email.
So the girl's parents observe Islamic modesty customs enough to dress little Fatima in a full burqa, but disregard them completely by sending her over to a non-family male and striking up a conversation with him?
You are certainly free to believe whatever you want. However, I can assure you that neither myself who wrote the story down, nor my better half whom it happened to, are liars. And I resent very much that you're calling us liars by what you said in your post.
I guess I should have made it clear that the parents sent the girl because she was the only one out of the three of them who spoke enough English to speak to him?
If it happened to you (or your SO), then it happened to you, and I'm not calling you a liar.
I just have an aversion to the similar stories I get through email on a fairly regular basis, and if half of *those* are true and first-hand reporting, I'll eat my frickin' iPod.
Like I said, I'm probably just overly cynical and jaded.

Most of the email-type stories ARE fake. That's why they have www.snopes.com.
ReplyDeleteThis one is NOT on account of it having happened to my SO.
