Gen. Casey: Vietnamization proceeding apace.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- The top U.S. commander in Iraq said Tuesday that it will take another 12 to 18 months or so for ARVN security forces to be ready to take over in the country.

  3. The Left doesn't have Vietnam fears, the have Vietnam hopes, and great hopes for a Democrat Congress to do again what they did, betrayal and deny aid.
Like Dr. Sanity says, What interests me is the transformation of the Democratic Party into a tool that every major enemy of this country -- from the North Vietnamese, to the Soviets, to the Syrians all the way up to the present day -- has been able to use to advance their objectives at the expense of America. As Feldman notes, this does indeed give new meaning to the term "opposition party".

Interestingly they both served in air-oriented wings - Rumsfeld as a Navy pilot and flight instructor, and McNamara in the Army Air Corps as a WWII analyst and statistician - both their duties required refined analytical skills, especially those for a jet-pilot taking off from an aircraft carrier where you can easily croak...
