Politics: Yeah, yeah, Nancy; that's what Newt said, too.

Via SayUncle:

She vowed that after 12 years in the minority, "We will not be dazzled by money and special interests."

As PJ O'Rourke said, "When buying and selling are controlled by legislation, the first things to be bought and sold are legislators."

  1. Also:"Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys."

Still, if we're quoting, I think The Who said it best:"Meet the new boss, same as the old boss."

  2. "We will not be dazzled by money and special interests."

That's a poor choice of words coming from someone who looks like she'd be easily distracted by a sparkly gum wrapper.

"A professional politician is a professionally dishonorable (wo)man. In order to get anywhere near high office (s)he has to make so many compromises and submit to so many humiliations that (s)he becomes indistinguishable from a streetwalker."

  5. Kevin,
Why do people have to malign streetwalkers like that? Most hookers have more integrity than your average politician.

I think that's a permanently 'startled' look engendered by her last face lift.

Hoot. She got startled yesterday I think.
