I love the crap out of that movie - it warms the cockroaches of my blackened little heart! I love how John- intimidated by his wife's corporate mega-success - re-asserts himself as the chest-thumping male (what's not to like?) and the man of the house. Every gal craves the occasional reminder of why she married the guy in the first place. Saddle up!
Not really a Christmas movie except that it takes place during Christmas, every year I take out my old VHS copy of The Bishop's Wife (1947) starring Cary Grant, Loretta Young, and David Niven. It's one of my favorite "gentle" comedies for the season.
The Original Die Hard is the Best Die Hard, the 1st Lethal Weapon is the best and I would nominate it for runner up as a good Christmas movie.
ReplyDeleteA couple of years ago my wife asked me what my favorite Christmas movie was, and I said, "Die Hard".
ReplyDeleteShe looked at me like I was nuts.
She'd never seen the movie, and I hadn't in a while, so I bought a copy and we watched it.
Now she REALLY thinks I'm nuts...
Oh, well. Great movie.
I'll never hear "Let It Snow" again without thinking "...... BAM!"

ReplyDeleteScrooged.... hands down.
ReplyDeleteDie hard and Long Kiss Goodnight would be a great double feature.
ReplyDeleteBoth Bruce and Geena were at their peek.
