Overheard At Work...
Me: "So, that's why I can rationalize having three AR's. The green one is for if I'm ever in the jungle, the coyote brown one is for the desert, and the black one is for, uh..."
Co-worker: "Zombies. Camouflage doesn't work on the living dead."
Ninjas won't touch AR-15 rifles for their work until someone makes an upper that fires shuriken.
Pirates are more pragmatic that way, seeing the AR as kind of an updated blunderbuss. (Anyone make a funnel-shaped flash hider for the Buccaneer market yet?)
"Let's see... I changed the extractor out on the green one about 10k rounds ago... it's got some time yet. But it's been about 2k rounds since I detail stripped the lower of the tan one-- I'll do that tonight while I'm cleaning the black one..."
I dunno, Marko; pirates might not care for the AR's direct impingement. After all, they do sail to quite a few different areas, and don't often use the cleanest ammo. Milsurps are more of their style anyway.
I just read, though haven't confirmed, that the black ones show up very nice with NVG'S. Sort of glow-in-the-dark. Maybe some sort of camo colors might be better? The desert camo works very well, heard about one soldier in training in the southwest years ago, set his down, couldn't find it!

I kinda unimaginatively thought the black one would be for night ops.
