H.R. 1096.

Obviously, this has no chance of going anywhere, and is just a quixotic statement showing that his heart's in the right place, but still...

Ron Paul, you magnificent bastard, you've got my vote.

  1. If you can get pissed at Jim Zumbo and write Remington/Cabelas/Outdoor Life then you can write your rep and tell him to get behind this piece of legislation. It may never go anywhere but it will still scare the socialists that run this country!

  3. I'm from Texas, and we've got words for this sort of thing down here:

    "HELLYEAH" comes to mind.

    That's the goods, right there!

  6. I'm all for the legislation, but I cannot praise Ron Paul for his vote on the "non-binding surrender resolution."

  7. To echo Kevin, sometimes Paul is dead on, but most of the time he's a Stark Raving Crazy.

A consistent, principled one, I suppose, but still one.

  8. Why in hell couldn't a bill like this have been brought up when the Republicans had the majority?

  9. So, you want a law to tell the government that they have to obey the constitution?

That's about as logical as a gun control law.

Better to have an amendment to reword the 2nd, so as to remove all doubt.

    Such as :

"We the people of the United States of America, reserve the right to forcibly remove the federal government from office, should it become necessary to do so. Furthermore, the people reserve the right to keep and bear arms, including but not limited to, military small arms as well as those used for hunting and sport."

The wording may be a bit clumsy, but at least it is more explicit than the current 2nd.

  10. timmeeee, Trust me, you do NOT want another constitutional convention and that's what it would take to do your change. The 2nd is quite clear, those that shovel gun control just refuse to believe it.

  13. Brass,
I believe there have been bills in both the House and Senate the last two or three years that would require every state to recognize any state's concealed carry permit, as they do for driver's licenses. Guess how far they went!
