Remington did the right thing, and did it so fast that some of the people Zumbo had pissed off didn't believe it could be real. Their CEO apparently sent out the notice from his Blackberry while traveling in Europe over the weekend, and it had a spelling error or two. It's for real, and I couldn't be prouder of my Remington guns and ammo. Way to go, Remington!
Despite living in Winchester's back yard, I've always been a Remington guy for shotgun shells and 22LR. Good on you, Remington. I'll be visiting my friendly retailer this week to stock up.
Right thing to do. I had been wondering if my next shotgun was going to be a Remington or a Mossberg. I now have my answer. I Also noticed the traitor's blog had been pulled. Whether or not this was due to the amount of posts (10s of thousands) or due to his views remains to be seen. May he disappear and never been seen again. With "friends" like him, who needs enemies?
Due to the controversy surrounding Jim Zumbo’s recent postings, Outdoor Life has decided to discontinue the “Hunting With Zumbo” blog for the time being. Outdoor Life has always been, and will always be, a steadfast supporter of our Second Amendment rights, which do not make distinctions based on the looks of the firearms we choose to own, shoot and take hunting. Now I respect Remington some more. That almost makes up for the J-lock.

Good of them to take this step, however small and ceremonial in nature.
ReplyDeleteThat it helps their pocketbook doesn't concern me one bit--quite the contrary in fact.
I think Remington is my new favorite maker for .22lr and trap loads.
I am happy to see that at least one CEO is earning his keep!
