3) ...as is a review of three $100 holsters: Galco Royal Guard vs. Brommeland Gunleather MaxCon V vs. Milt Sparks Summer Special. (Thanks to the traveling Galco salesguy. Between pumping him dry and getting a bunch of info from Gary Brommeland secondhand via Tony at work, I am about ten times smarter regarding holsters than I was this time last month.)

ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the holster review since I was just about to drop a chunk of my tax refund on a Sparks rig (probably a VM2, but the Summer Special is still in contention).
ReplyDeleteTam, if you can deal with IWB, look at Mitch Rosen's ARG. Not sure how well it works for women, but I haven't found anything that tucks the grips of a 1911 up close like this does. Best concealment because of this. He has a slim version I will have to try some day.
ReplyDeleteAnother holster design I use is the LFI model from Ted Blocker. This has a velcro tab on the holster, and the matching belt is velcro lined. Almost infinite holster positioning. Not quite as good as the ARG for ultimate concealment.
I've been using both models since the early '90s.
