Interesting choice of words...

Via Marko, I heard about the creepy family who kept a mummified baby as a sort of heirloom living room knick-knack. When a judge ordered the remains to be interred, rather than allowing them to continue being used as a bookend, Mr. Creepy was quoted as saying "I'm just washing my hands of it". One can only hope he meant that literally.

  1. Why not hold on to Aunt Beaulah's gall stones and Herb's amputated leg, while we're at it? If they'd simply encrusted the child's corpse in platinum and diamonds, it would have been art.

  2. Just...damn.

I will admit to some shock when, as a teenager, I found a human skull in a closet in my house. It was apparently given to my mother by a professor whilst she was taking an anatomy class in college many years ago. It had been wired and articulated and was likely some poor Indian.

I donated the thing to the anthropology department at the local university.

But a mummified baby used as a coffee table decoration? Damn.

  3. Was it teriyaki, hickory, or pepper flavor?
