Marko had a few spare 256 meg sticks lying about that he was willing to donate to the cause, but VFTP Command Central only has 2 slots... ...both already occupied by 256 meg sticks. Que sera, sera.
The Hardee's Super Coronary Burrito, on the other hand, was pretty good. I'll say this, though: The only item McDonald's has on its breakfast menu that totally pwns Hardee's is their sausage/sausage gravy; Hardee's is a little bland by comparison. If these burritos were made with Mickey Dee's sausage & sausage gravy, they would rock out hard.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled blogging...
Ain't there something you can do with a soldering iron and some alligator clips? For years, I didn't know a CPU would run without them.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard for a southerner to explain sausage gravy to a Yankee. Folks just don't understand how you'd survive it. My parents lived in NC for 11 years, and I developed a likin' (some days, an absolute hankerin'). I confess to still not understanding grits with redeye. Myabe with curry...
What kind of RAM does your system need?
ReplyDeleteUh, the kind with the little black rectangles on the green boards with the gold connectors. *blink*

Seriously, I didn't even look; I haven't been inside the case of this thing since I brought it home and threw the soundcard and video card in...
184 pin DDR, I think, according to Marko.
I've got a pair of 512mb sticks of pc2700 cas 2-2-2 sitting in my desk drawer that should still work. I've been trying to offload the damn things for ages. If your motherboard will run 'em, I'd rather have the drawer space back at this point.
ReplyDeleteMcdonalds in your area has sausage gravy? LUCKY!.
ReplyDeleteWe get crappy breakfast burritos with nasty "salsa" on them here. No gravy for our biscuits.
The best way to explain sausage gravy and biscuits (not the flaky kind) is to just serve 'em up to any "visitors" you get from above the line.
ReplyDeleteConverts them instantly.

Chris, you wouldn't believe how geographically varied the McDonalds menu is. As in, Lobster Rolls in Maine, Cuban sandwiches in Miami, and wine in France. Besides biscuits and gravy the Mickey Ds around here have sweet iced tea.
ReplyDeleteP.S. to Tam. It depends on the Hardee's and McDonalds, and the meal. The Hardee's on Alcoa Hwy is terrible. The McD's on Topside Road off Pellissippi is amazing. Their biscuits are better than any other McD's I've tried around here.
ReplyDeleteAs far as chicken biscuits (for which I have the largest, uh, sample size) the McDonalds chicken biscuit is generally much better than the Hardee's same.
In Quebec a quarter-pounder with cheese is "quatre-livre avec fromage." Of course, any Parisian will tell you that what they speak in Quebec is not French.
ReplyDeleteThe inventor of the Filet of Fish died last year. In his obituary it was noted that he developed it in Cincinnati for Lent, in the now-forgotten days when Catholics ate no meat then. Ray Kroc wanted to go chain-wide with a single pineapple slice on a bun.
The McDonalds' at their HQ in Oak Brook used to serve every entree available anywhere in the chain. Yes, they called it McWine.
