Boomsticks: Truer words...

Once upon a time, the phone rang at CCA, and the person who answered it called out "Trevor, there's a guy on line one from HK. He says he's returning your call."

Instant silence. I felt a little light headed, the way you would on seeing a ghost, or if your dog suddenly started talking. That was the first time in my life I'd ever heard those words used in that order in a gun store.

From the office: "Really?"

Calling HK and leaving a message is like the neolithic tribesman sacrificing a goat to the moon god: You're not really expecting a response, but you go through the ceremony anyway.

Larry Correia has a new ad slogan they should think about using: HK. Because you suck. And we hate you.

  1. If I didn't know you and Trevor, I'd call fiction on that one, because everyone knows that the HK phone system bounces your call automatically if the caller ID doesn't say "U.S. Government", or "XYZ Police Department."

  2. Ok, I don't care if it puts me in bad graces with Tam, I'm stealing that banner and modifying it relentlessly.

    That's some funny sh!t.

  3. No, H&K doesn't hit me, I just walked into a door, that's all. And it's not his fault, he just gets so crazy sometimes, and I did buy that damn Glock... he just gets jealous!

I should just shut up and buy my $50 magazines and be happy he lets me.

  4. Larry oopsed.

HK The UberCompany isn't denying U.S. civilians the opportunity to buy overpriced gas-piston AR uppers.

Uncle Sam The Overbearing Government is, via BATFE import restrictions - the same ones that prohibit AK barrels nowadays.

    Honest. Go look it up.

  5. They could build a factory in the US to sell rifles to the civilian market, just like SIG and FN have done.

If they gave a rat's ass about non-government customers.

    Which they don't.

  6. Huh, it sounds like those import restrictions should violate some free trade agreements.

Foreign made widgets kept out, but domestic widgets still sold? That's classic protectionism!

  7. Obviously HK products are among the best. I mean they are among the most expensive after all and expense always equals the finest quality and most effective design.

Oh, and I always buy anything that's black and has "tactical" printed on it, too. Nothing but the best.

Hmm, what's that I smell? Is it sarcasm rolled in irony?

  8. So, the Anschutz smallbore expert has something to move up to...

Sounds like the ideal carry piece for the tailored cargo compartment of a Pooooor-sha.

  9. HK won't sell Made-in-Germany 416 uppers to Germans either.

Even though that would be legal.

But they are willing to sell you flimsy plastic bipods for EU200/$280.
