1) 1.7% of people are quantum physicists who figured out how to score 26/25, or
2) I was docked points for admitting to being a girl, or
3) The test itself is a little dense.

The percentages are measuring only that group of people who are taking this test?

Since I score 25/25 as well, I feel there is a need for a tie-breaker.

It's a reading speed/hand-eye coordination test.
24/25, which annoys me because now I don't know which one I missed.

Well, I got 25/25 and 99.35%. Satanam may be right, there could be a time component to the scoring.

ReplyDeleteThat's not exactly what I'd call comprehensive. If speed is involved I'm even less impressed. Thinking quickly has gotten me into more trouble than it has gotten me out of.

No 1.7% of people got all 25 right - you are NOT smarter than them, you are only smarter than the people who missed 1 or more.
ReplyDeleteOf course that means you aren't as smart as the people who understand how percentiles work. (You can't be smarter than 100% of the population since you are part of the population.... unless you can be smarter than yourself.)

Kudos to bryan. Many, in this distinguished company, would just lie. HST, I also got them all right (you do believe me now?) and was given 98.3%.

They're allowing for the number of people who are smart enough to do something else with their time.

Man, I am the dumbest. Because the "start" button didn't change the cursor to the click hand in Firefox, I clicked on an ad the first time I ran through it and ended up taking another test that had pages and pages of opt-ins.

I'll take a score of zero, for not bothering with the silly thing.

ReplyDeleteAlso, the damnthing is USA-centric. Fine for you folks, but I don't particularly care which of Reagan, Nixon, or who it all was has died, will die, or when they died (OK, take this sentence out and shoot it).
Also, I spent too much time trying to figure out where the trick in the question was before figuring out there was no trick.
