Um, who?

From the NY Daily News via Michelle Malkin:
Fellow host Jon Elliott said on the liberal network that Rhodes was attacked at 39th St. and Park Ave. on Sunday night while walking her dog, Simon.

Elliott, who said Rhodes lost several teeth in the attack, waxed about a possible conspiracy.

"Is this an attempt by the right-wing hate machine to silence one of our own?" he asked on the air, according to the Talking Radio blog. "Are we threatening them?"

I have a question. Who is Randi Rhodes? I mean, I thought he was dead. I have Ozzy's tribute album, after all.

  1. It looks like it didn't actually happen.

The lady in question says she just had a bad fall, and wasn't mugged.

This is all just some Kos-tard's fevered confabulation ... and that Air America reported it as "fact" is just icing on the cake ...

  2. Right, but what I'm trying to figure out is why I, as a member in occasionally good standing of the VRWC, would want someone silenced whose existence I am completely unaware of. Lord knows I don't find her particularly threatening.

If a Randi falls on a city street and no one is around to hear, does it make a noise?

  3. I had no idea who she was until I saw the incident on a couple of blogs. And now that I know who she is, I still don't care...

  4. Well the Liberals seem to always twist the truth, if they think they can benefit from it.
Instead of saying "I tripped & fell on my face", for the lib, it's "I was assaulted & who would assault me but well it just had to be a right winged Rush supporter!"
she must hhave taken lessons from Sara Brady.......

  5. Did she remember to draw the swastika going to the right and not the left?

    That's important.

  6. Current rumor is... bad fall in an alcoholic stupor coming out of an Irish pub. Poor dear. Lost teeth in the deal.

  7. Story still doesn't wash. Who the hell would have 14 Bloody Marys in an Irish pub? Bloody waste of good Irish.

No, no, no... The question is "If a Randi falls on a city street and no one is around to hear, will a law suit be filed?"

  12. It's almost sad when ijits make being-a-victim so much a part of their group identity that it's the first thing they reach for even when the real culprit is simple clumsiness, likely aided by distilled spirits.

Almost sad. It does serve as a clear indication of what passes for thinking over on the Left, which is a happy, happy thing. Hey, ever'body, look: they're fools! All part of the VRWC, wot?

  13. La Rhodes does not rate a conspiracy.

    A quick huddle, at most.

Besides, where are you going to find an enraged conservative in New Yawk city??

  14. If Randi falls in the street ... does anyone even care, let alone hear? Wishful thinking from the left, I guess.

Toohey:"What do you think of me now, Howard?"

    Roark:"I don't think of you."

  15. kris, isn't it Peter Keating who asks that?

  16. comatus,

It's been about ten years since my last go-through with The Fountainhead, but I'm almost certain that you are correct.

    Appropriate comment by kbarrett, nonetheless.

  17. Nope ... it was Toohey.

There is a parody on Amazon.com that meantions Keating ... heh.

Here is the dialog from the film script:

Ellsworth Toohey: There's the building that should have been yours. There are buildings going up all over the city which are great chances refused and given to incompetent fools. You're walking the streets while they're doing the work that you love but cannot obtain. This city is closed to you. It is I who have done it! Don't you want to know my motive?

    Howard Roark: No!

Ellsworth Toohey: I'm fighting you and shall fight you in every way I can.

Howard Roark: You're free to do what you please!

Ellsworth Toohey: Mr. Roark, we’re alone here. Why don't you tell me what you think of me in any words you wish.

Howard Roark: But I don't think of you!

[Roark walks away and Toohey's head slumps down]
