(CNN) -- Saudi Arabia could have helped the United States prevent al Qaeda's 2001 attacks on New York and Washington if American officials had consulted Saudi authorities in a "credible" way, the kingdom's former ambassador said in a documentary aired Thursday....and the part that's highlighted is just pure coincidence.
Since the Saudi government only spends a couple of billion dollars a year promoting crackpot Wahhabism globally, I guess they'd have the inside track on this kind of info.
ReplyDeleteSo, the implication is that the Saudis let us get attacked, with their full knowledge, just because we didn't beg them for the information? That ain't playing nice.

I'd imagine they could have stopped it with a phone call, but that's just me being cynical.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun day when cynical and factual are the same thing.
ReplyDeleteSaudi Arabia, 1990...Hmm, there's a madman on our border and he might take our oil and our monarchy away. Where can we find a large and capable military force to help us? Infidels, schminfidels, today we're the US's bestest friend and ally. Make the call, Omar.
Heh. "In a credible way" translates to "kissing our ass".
