I'm watching some conservative bloggers starting to make "Well, maybe McCain's not so bad..." noises.
Folks, answer me this: On any Bill Of Rights issue, how does the Manchurian Candidate's position differ significantly from Hillary Clinton's? I mean, hello? McCain-Feingold, for gawdssake?
The Rondroids enjoy their little jibe that "Fred Thompson Is Just George Bush With A Deeper Voice". In that vein, McCain is just Clinton with a better relationship to the military.
I swear, I sometimes think that if the devil himself ran as a Republican, I'd hear some conservative pundit on the internet say "Well, he has a chance of winning, and think of the Supreme Court nominations!"
What's keeping me from any degree of enthusiasm for McCain is thinking about the Supreme Court.
ReplyDeleteThe last thing this country needs is three SC appointees who think that the Constitution amounts to little more than a few helpful suggestions.
Just sent Fred another small sum.
ReplyDeleteWould that I could send a very large amount!
McCain is the darling of the dems and the media. But then, I repeat myself.
I'd hold my nose and vote for Mitt if Fred doesn't go the distance, but I'm still rallying to Fred until he says otherwise.

Sadly we're probably coming down to the following in November: Democrat or Democrat (not so)Lite
ReplyDeleteWell, if the devil himself ran, why settle for a lesser evil?
ReplyDeleteThat's why if we get a McCain vs. Clinton ballot in November, I'm writing in Cthulhu.
ReplyDeleteFred was the only guy I ever donated money to. I'd send him more, but several groups that are working on the DC case need it more.
ReplyDeleteClayton Cramers ASA, & the Buckeye Firearms got most of what I could send.
I'm not sure Fred is out of it yet, not until the convention.
This next term is going to be interesting.et45
ReplyDeleteHe’d be a great partner in any endeavor, including joining America together,” McCain said in response to a question on Lieberman's vice presidential chances. “Let’s reach across the aisle, let’s work together for America. That’s what Joe Lieberman is all about.”
ReplyDelete“The vice president really only has two duties,” McCain said. “One is to cast the tie-breaking vote in the Senate, as you well know. And the other is to inquire daily as to the health of the president.”
McCain-Lieberman.......the Republicans current vision of the Reagan legacy.
Don't send Fred anymore cash, unless it's for a farewell party......he just quit.
ReplyDeleteI hear the devil is fairly good on pro-gun issues... at least as compared to what we have to choose from.

For too long the GOP has taken the gun vote for granted.
After all, they say, who else will be vote for... Democrats?
Well, now that they've chased Fred (no support from HQ), I've had it.
This year, the entire gun culture needs to vote third party. I don't care which third party, either. Vote Paul, vote Kucinich, vote Reform, vote Libertarian, vote Gree, vote Cyclon, vote Scientologist.
Just don't vote mainstream.
If the GOP sees we actually have the intestinal fortitude to vote third party, they might rethink their ways come 2010.
Before you tell me its a wasted vote, I want you to tell me how voting for McCain, Huck, Mitt, Rudy, Hilary, Obama, or Edwards is NOT A WASTED VOTE.
Gunowners are screwed no matter who wins.
So, let's put our votes to good use and vote third party. We're gonna get saddled with an anti-gun liberal no matter who wins, so we might as well use our vote to send a message for 2010.
I think irishdoh has the right ideer.

ReplyDeleteWhat makes you think there's going to be elections in 2010?
Because they forgot to take our guns away?
ReplyDeleteTam, that's what they'll be working on during the next term. Stock up now---ammo, reloading equipment, components, etc.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be so worried. I've read somewhere that it'd take 200 years to disarm the american citizens(and I doubt there wouldn't be a revolution if that was seriously attempted).
