Both cats were dozing immobilized in a puddle of sunshine on the floor. I stealthily crept up with the hairbrush...
I'm now sitting smugly at my desk with two sleepily blinking, freshly de-undercoated cats staring at me like... well... let's just say that if looks could maim, I'd be typing this from a wicker basket.
Yours don't take kindly to being brushed? My long-haired guy was like that until the summer we had to have him shaved to get rid of the knots. Since then, he makes a nuisance of himself if he hasn't been brushed within the last day or so. He even likes being combed around his chin and on the sides of his neck.
ReplyDeleteThe Feline Who So Graciously Allows Me to Share His Existence wouldn't be upset about the brushing - he'd be far more po'd about me waking him up. I try to be courteous in this regard.
ReplyDeleteOf course, it is different when I'M sacked out and he decides to vocalize his various complaints.
I've always wondered what they shot that cat up with in the 'pet vac' commercial to keep it from attaching to the ceiling.
ReplyDeleteEvery cat that has ever owned me has treated being brushed as a treat just shy of the magnificence of catnip. Just the sight of the hairbrush would have one of them following me around until I sat down.
ReplyDeleteIt's winter and you've stripped the poor things of their long underwear! OH NOES!
ReplyDeleteWell, the line between brave and foolish has been found --- and I won't cross it. No wonder dogs and little children love me, and cats know better.
ReplyDeleteTam, that's just plain sadistic.
ReplyDeleteDo it again.
