As for the college campus carry, that's a no no as far as the campuses are concerned, its not against the law, but you'll get escorted off the premises at the very least. I know, I work at the largest in the state.
As for the gun show, meh. Last one I went to was pretty lame compared to what they once were, I think the interwebz killed the gun show.
The Indy 1500 is decent, not great, but simply decent. Tam will be frustrated by the low number of premier S&W's. That's why I like the Louisville show. It has a higher level of older, premier lever revolvers. Of course, it's techically out of state, so bring an FFL.
"Millions of Yankees", ha!. What Yankees there are here are later-day immigrants. The old joke goes that a Hoosier is just a Kentuckian or Tennessean that ran out of gas on the way to get a job in Detroit. It ain't far from the truth...
I feel bound to point out that, in fact, the Mason-Dixon line is at 39 deg, 43 min North, whereas Indy is at 39 deg, 46.5 min North -- practically on the border. Hardly Yankee territory.
(And Cincinnati is actually at 39 deg, 8 min, or SOUTH of the line.)
Tam, that's cool you're moving north to Indy. The 1500 is usually pretty decent, depending on what you're looking for - ammo was very expensive at January's show, very little .223 and 5.56 NATO.
I do think you'll like it here. Whereabouts will the new porch be?
Duh. I should have read further down. Broad Ripple is nice, though a little crowded for me. I don't live too far from there, we (wifey, myself and two cats) live a little to the northwest, just above New Augusta. One thing, roads, and everything else can sometimes get icy in the winter, be careful with the Zed 3! If Roberta shoots at Marion County Fish and Game down in Speedway, I'll prolly run in to you sooner or later.
And one of the better concealed carry laws. Yhey offer lifetime licenses, you can carry at 18 and on college campuses...

Oh yeah, the Indy 1500 is pretty awesome. I usually go once or twice a year and I always end up spending some money.

Enjoy it! I miss it a lot. The gun shows out in Vegas are horrible. The Indy show is almost as big as SHOT.
