Teaser.

So there are some sixty boxes labeled "Books", two labeled "Brass", two labeled "Reloading", two labeled "AR-15/misc. rifle stuff", one labeled "Revolver holsters & spdldrs/moonclps", and one labeled "Curl. irns. & other hair crap"...

(Incidentally, there seems to be some manner of related contest up at Atomic Nerds...)

  3. If I were moving Dad, the count on brass, holsters and reloading boxes would be far, far higher. Ugh.

    I hate moving Dad. :)

I'm actually impressed that you got your reloading stuff into just two boxes, but you rely heavily on a Tong Tool, don'tcha?

  4. Much obliged for the linky-love. I was wondering why the hit counter was spinning like the electric meter at Christmas. ;)

And like Matt said, two boxes? My setup isn't even functional yet and it'd take up at least three or four.

  6. Only two boxes.

I notice Tam discreetly refrained from mentioning the relative SIZE of the boxes.

So jumping to conclusions is premature.

As to driving through MA, Tam hasn't even gotten started.
    There's the actual iron too.

  7. On the SISZE of the boxes in question:

Boxes like what appliances (refridgerators, washer/dryer combos) come in, I reckon.....

  9. If Tam is indeed moving, I hope it goes well. Last time I made a major move (job related) my new company paid for the move (good since it was from Michigan to Texas). I transported my weapons myself, but my CDs and silverware(!) vanished enroute. Most of my decent firearms vanished later, as said company laid me off two years later, and being it was 4 months before 9-11 and I was in commercial aviation, I had to sell them off to pay my rent. If Tam is indeed moving, I wish her well!!

  10. C'mon, give us a hint. At least give us a latitude or a longitude to work with.

  11. So your blog is going to be renamed "View From The Other Porch," I take it. Arizona is holding its breath. Arizona loves assets. Arizona is disheartened at the long odds of such an event. However, if the long odds pay off, your drinks are on me on some potential future eve.

  13. Only sixty boxes of books?

Well, I guess you can just pick up more where you end up.

  14. So you ALMOST have enough books. AMMO? (Not a chance of that, methinks..... empty brass in need of refilling, yes, but loaded ammo.....). I didn't see any mention of red wine anywhere......

  16. Nope. She's headed for Latitude: 45.9820 Longitude: 63.5560, maybe 10 miles North of Tjuratam. And that might be only the first step!

  17. Remember,
Lift with the legs, not the back and keep the book boxes about 2 x 2 ( feet that is). Otherwise they tend to bust open when you pick them up.
    Good luck,
    DonH

  18. That's funny, but did you ever find a box labled "Unpublished novels" like I did last summer...well, finally got started on the process of getting the darn things published. Would love to talk about "To Sail Beyond The Sunset", don't hear much talk about that one...it's very special.
