This just in from the Department of Irony:

The U.S. Secretary of Defense has appealed to Turkey to make its ground incursion into Iraq, and I quote, "short and focussed."

I am not making this up.

Perhaps not surprisingly, Turkey refuses to commit to a timetable to withdrawing its troops.

I am not making that up, either. Sometimes real life is a heck of a lot funnier than anything I could make up.

    The scary thing about all this is that the two main groups running the Kurdish region in Iraq don't have a problem with the Turks going after the particular org they are targeting.

    "Kurdistan" = Wales

    ( and some more from the same author ... )

    They spend centuries slaughtering each other ... and when the invader takes over, they fink each other out to the invader to settle old scores.
