What I don't understand is why people keep giving him money for films.
Blood Rayne was TRULY an awful film, not even in way Plan Nine from Outer Space was awful, or Killer Klowns from Outer Space was awful, or ... well you get the idea.
Uwe Boll achieved a brief, transcendent moment when he fulfilled every belligerent dork's fantasy and actually beat up people from the web who'd talked trash about him.
Including the "Something Awful" webmaster.
That's so incredibly lame it comes out the other side and becomes awesome. Or maybe it's the other way around. I can't tell.
it's lame--he used to box, so he has some skills. he was just being a bully--however, the critics accepted his challenge, so i guess they should have prepared better.
Oh, it's super-lame- there's certainly absolutely nothing redeeming about a guy "proving" his smaller and weaker critics wrong by beating the shit out of them.
It just achieves a sublime level of absurd when those self-same critics that deemed him crazy, in love with violence, and a sucking black hole of ego actually turn up, suit up, and then complain that he hit them harder than they expected.
Normally, bullies don't get their victims to volunteer to the point that it includes air travel and special outfits.
Hopefully, we will get enough signatures. It'd be wonderful to not have to worry that when your favorite video game franchise is finally being turned into a film that it will be directed (and thus destroyed) by Uwe Boll.
(Yeah, I know that previous sentence is extremely awkward, but I'm in the middle of a class and I'm trying to listen to the professor at the same time as I'm typing this...)
I was going to say that sometimes he makes a movie that's at least cheaply entertaining, but I was thinking of Dead or Alive, looked it up and he's got nothing to do with it, heh.
Ok Steve, that was a bit funny, but then he was also interviewed by one of the biggest a-holes ever to host a show. That guy is positively psychopathic.
I think I'll sign that for all five members of my household.
ReplyDeleteIt probably won't stop him.

Aww, leave Uwe alone.
ReplyDeleteEvery generation needs their very own version of Ed Wood.
Please don't besmirch the name of Ed Wood by comparing him with Uwe Boll. Ed Wood was original in ways Uwe can't even come close.

ReplyDeleteEwe Boll makes truely awful movies. How he tricks people into seeing them ranks up there with PT Barnum's abilities.

ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of his films, but the guy is hysterical! Watch his interview on Redeye:

Oh, sure, he challenges his critics to a boxing match.
ReplyDeleteBut let's see what happens when he challenges his critics to a film directing match.
