Curse you, weather gods!

I don't know if you can hear me over the thunder, but it looks like it's ixnay on the lawnmowing today.

Ah, well. The garden needed the rain. Maybe I'll pull up a radish tomorrow and see how edible it looks. (The dill is already saladworthy. It's some giant mutant variety, so it should just get huger from here.)

  1. Just wait 5 minutes for the weather to change. Indiana, ya know.

  2. Charlie don't surf.

Wet grass don't cut. Not with this mower...

  3. Oh, I wish I could use a thunderstorm as an excuse not to mow. Hell, I'd like it for an excuse not to water. As it is, all we have is a typical summer fug.

Thank Grid for air conditioning. Or -- rather -- for room refrigeration.

  4. A scythe works fine on wet grass.
You're tall and slender, so add a black slicker with hood and give your elderly neighbors a little thrill.iivzbv

  5. A damn rat came and ate one of our little basil plants in the planter-box, hope you have better luck with the radishes.

  6. I finally hacked down the hay crop on about 2.5 acres, yesterday.

I can hit the 9-iron out there, now.

    The fragrance is wonderful.

  10. Hereabouts, I'd wish it would stop raining.... my garden is in danger of sliding downhill.....

  11. Wish we could get some rain; we usually don't get any during the summer.

  12. Aw, Tam, you just need to sharpen the blades! And was that Robert Duvall's voice I heard?

But I'm in the same hole. Stupid rain makes the grass grow and keeps you from cutting it.

  13. You should feel free to come on out to Seattle and mow mine.
    For practice, you know.

    You can sample Northwest microbrews.

  14. Spearmint is taking over my English flower garden. In a big way! If you need any for cooking or have any ideas for manufacturing gum as the new gun- toting Doublemint Twins, you and Roberta give me a call.
