Obama urges conversion of US economy to the Peso.

Claiming that the economy needs a boost, Barack I'm No Economist Obama called for
"another round of fiscal stimulus, an immediate $50 billion to help those who've been hit hardest by this economic downturn,"
without explaining what invisible pink unicorn was expected to defecate this windfall.

Given that the fed.gov is already in hock up to our grandkids' eyeballs, one can only expect that this would come from an order to the printing presses at Treasury.

In related news, Ace Hardware has started selling special "Weimar Edition" currency wheelbarrows for trips to the grocery store and gas station.

  1. Naw -- the rainbow-colored ones poop cash. The pink ones poop socialized medicine.

  2. I understand that the wheelsbarrows are payable in gold, avoiding irritating currency flucuations, and masses of paper

    Nice one!

I did notice some large trucks delivering ink to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing on 14th Street this morning. Coincidence?

  5. Easy enough, just find some $50bn Federal program, and kill it. Then hand the budget for that program out to the "poor". Now, the program was probably already a deficit budget program, and the money being used as a handout is tax money, so this is pure income redistribution, but at least it won't put another syrette full of black tar smack into the value of the dollar.

I think it's a sign of how perverse the American economy has become that I actually prefer this plan; just handing tax money directly to looters, rather than devaluing the currency. Not over actually fixing the economy, of course, but that I can look at it and say, "well, at least it's better than that plan." *sigh*

Bo doesn't want your change. Or even the bills. Cash is so....20th Century. He wants your (or your Boss') COMPANY. So that HE gets to decide how much money is to much for you to have. It is the end state of Socialism.

KdT had a couple of excellent posts on this today. Hie thee hence, particularly those of you considering not voting this go 'round.

  9. If he believes in a stimulus package like that so much, why isn't he sponsering a bill for it?
