Today In History: Itchy trigger finger, comrade.
On this date in 1952, a Soviet MiG-15 shot down a Swedish sigint DC-3 over the Baltic Sea, killing all eight crew members. The Commies denied splashing the plane for another four years.
And not the last airliner they shot down and denied any knowledge of either. I doubt they used the same excuse, "It was an RC135 spying on our glorious motherland" but I'll bet that it was similar.
