Officially untactical.

If you get an unexpected doorbell ring in the middle of the day and you slip a 103-year-old Colt Pocket Hammerless in .32ACP into the back pocket of your jeans to go see who it is, you have to tear up your Tammy Tactical card, no matter what round is in the chamber.

(It was the termite dude to check the perimeter defenses, FWIW...)

  1. On the other hand, it's a little hard to slip an M-4 in your back pocket when you go to answered the unexpected knock at the door...

  2. I'm just impressed that you are dressed in the middle of the day!

  3. Hey, at least if you're gonna go down, go down with soul. (Couldn't happen with a a Kel tec)

  4. Surely you looked through the wide-angle peep hole, port holes, side windows, etc.

Then if it is batch of motley home invaders, you say "Just a sec." Then you can activate the claymore triggers, grab the trench broom, and turn loose the cats of war.

  5. If you get a tac rail put on, add some sort of laser grip, thread the barrel, and put on tritium night sights then do you think they'd at least let you back in on a probationary basis?

    What if you dual-wielded?

  6. Yeah. Get another one, paint it matte black, and put tritium sights on it.

    Then it'll be a Tactical 1903 Hammerless.

  8. What does it mean if you've got a Colt 1911 Commander in a zip lock baggie mounted in your shower, you know, just in case.

Yes, there's 2 spare loaded mags in there as well.

  9. Well..... it's A GUN..... AND it's bigger than a .25 ACP......

  10. I'm jealous. Mine's only 96 years old.

  11. Tactful or tactical, the model M is stylin'.

  12. Tam,

Are they still selling that ammo? I bought a large quantity of both the .25 ACP and .32 ACP a couple of years ago because I was told by the manufacturer that they were going to stop selling those particular rounds. Got an excellent price too.

Well, by large quantity I mean a couple of hundred rounds each, which is a lot for a couple of calibers I rarely use. But the .25 works great in my Browning Baby and the .32 works well in my North American Arms .32.

  15. "What if you dual-wielded?"

She'd take a -5 penalty on each attack for that turn. If you get that joke, you don't have to admit it.

But seriously, she followed the most important rule of a gunfight. And I imagine that a contact discharge from even a .32 would leave some kind of mark.

As far as Triton goes, I've got a box of those nasty fragmenting shotgun slugs they sold for a while. When you care enough to send the very best...

  16. I'm a stodgy old soul who still puts his faith in a mostly stock 1911 filled up with "Police Only" (I'm family) Black Talons.
But the site that sells your funny ammo was seriously cool. I hadn't seen flechette rounds since I worked for Uncle.

  17. Tam: I checked with Wierd Ed (not me, the other one) who lives in the woods with a house full of Kropatcheks, Lebels, and other odd creatures, and he says his Siamese runs fine on a 1914 Enfield follower and spring, after a bit of grinding to length.
I'm building a .358 Norma on a '17 action with a '14 bolt (too lazy to open up the bolt face and extractor for the Limey rim), and have said follower and spring available for trade. How many "Keep The Change" stickers am I bid?

  18. Wasn't it Lawdog who regaled us with the story of instant compliance from a goblin when Lawdog's partner shoved a Jetfire (?) into the goblin's nostril?

I'm with tbeck. When a projectile (even a .32) leaves the muzzle with the head-start of already being inside the badguy's body, it's definitely going to leave a mark :)

  19. My 1903 shoots silvertips without a bobble.

What's not to love. It meets the requirements for rule 1 of gunfighting.

FTW, the M-1903 Hammerless ... designed by JMB (pbuh), back when .32 ACP was still considered capable of killing someone.

  20. Ah, but that's OST. (Old School Tactical)

  21. The M1903 was not just designed by Browning(pbuh), it was the gun Browning(pbuh) carried.

  22. That is perfectly tactical and up to date.

Now it's time for me to head down to Taft headquarters, I hope we can keep that fool Wilson out of the White House!

  24. I answer my door with anything from a .25 acp to 200lbs of sausage. Ask Robb about that one.

  25. Anyone remember that pawnbroker down in Florida a few years ago who got attacked by some ninja wannabee with a sword? The guy moved past -several- loaded firearms, getting cut, and at least one through-and-through wound, before he got to his mousegun, whereupon he shot the attacker a few times in the head...

  26. TCB with a 1903 is tacticool, baby!
