That happen to one of my elderly cats a few years ago. The vet suggested feeding her some petroleum jelly to ease things along. I remember I dipped some dried cat food in the jelly.
It worked about a day later. Switching to dry cat food helped too. Hope Mittens gets better.
Our cats Snoopy (hyperthyroidism) and Tiggr (ate a whole bobbin of thread once, had to have it surgically removed) send their best wishes to Mittens. As do we.
My angora once ate a piece of synthetic easter grass. It caused all kinds or irritation to the intestinal lining. At first we thought she had parasites and treated her accordingly. Eventually the grass began to emerge. I gotta say, if you think giving a cat a bath is hard work, try removing something from their...ahem. A death of a thousand cuts, indeed.
