Well isn't that just $#%^ great.

My dinky little 15" LCD monitor is starting to crap out.

Dammit, why do things like this always crop up around the holidays?

  2. So you can buy a new one that has been marked down 70 percent at an electronics store that is going bankrupt?

  4. Strike that... it's $139 with a mail-in rebate that, if you actually get it, will bring the price to $89.

  5. Could be worse.

Way back in the day, my IBM 13" VGA display actually caught fire when it crapped out.

And now that I think about it: it was not only a mere 4-5 weeks after the holidays, it was 2 weeks after my son was born.

  7. My 17" Samsung is ~1.5 years old and it's "free", as in "free beer".

I've used it for ~month, but then switched to a laptop fulltime.

    I see multiple offers.

Must be Christmas and gifts need given.

  9. What res? Is the panel still good? What's the diagonal measurement on the panel? I am collecting parts for a project. I'd hate to tear apart a new monitor just for the panel.

  10. At least you didn't have to buy four new truck tires. I don't think they even make 15-inch monitors anymore.

  11. I've noticed that if you ever have a little extra dosh lying about, some crisis will pop up to absorb said dosh. Sucky, that.
