Hmmm...

  1. A "dead."

"Yeah, we ran into a whole dead of zombies last night, but the 870s were cooking and all was right."

veri: mandew Nope, ain't even going there.

  2. I've always used "horde."
Regardless of how many zombies you have, multiple zombies = horde.

  3. We call them a "congress of zombies".

  4. A "murder" of zombies. Or maybe a "muster"....

    ReplyDelete
  5. No, no, a "murder" is crows and a "muster" is chubby guys in camo with SKSs.

  6. A mob of zombies. A horde implies some degree of organization.

  7. I should think a horde would be a fine collective noun. A mess of zombies also seems apropos, though perhaps a crypt would work if you want something more goth-sounding.

  9. "Croak of zombies"
    "Bog of zombies"
    "Quagmire of zombies"
"Brick of zombies" - because it'll take a brick of ammo to take them down.

  20. Two more for your list:

    A "confusion" of blonds.

    A "congress" of fools.

  26. A "congress" is what one calls a group of politicians in the USA. Elsewhere in the world it is naturally a parliament of politicians.

As for zombies, if you follow Tam's link you'll note that someone mentioned the term "an infestation of zombies". Very hard to argue against that. An infestation it is then.

  27. A putrescence of zombies.

A pestilence of zombies (though someone else mentioned a plague already).

    A pong of zombies.

    A reek of zombies.

    A stench of zombies.

    A mess of zombies.

I can think of nothing more.

  32. "a rot of zombies."

    Only if you're Scooby Doo!

I like the terms shamble or shuffle

    ReplyDelete
  33. So far, I'm liking "Shamble" and "Funk," best, leaning toward shamble.

  40. A gnash of zombies.

  41. Unless you're PC, democrat or French being eaten by the undead, then:

A "nosh" of zombies is appropriate.

  42. What do you a call a bunch of zombies.

    "Targets."

As in " Gentlemen and ladies, Targets at 3 o'clock. Aimed fire only. First rank. Fire!. Second Rank. Fire! Third Rank. Fire! First Rank. Fire! ... Reserve ranks, Right face! Aim. Fire!"

  43. Breda, it is only "A rot of zombies" in Asia......

    ReplyDelete
  44. I like "confusion of blondes", that's just funny.

But, everyone knows fools travel in parades.

I'd think that it would be "an apocalypse of zombies" or maybe "a pox of zombies" for those that want to be punny.

  45. What would I call a whole lot of zombies?

    A target-rich environment.

And a REAL good excuse to load up all my new-to-me, eeeeeeevil baby-killing preban AR mags.

Word verification: enerstab. I like it.

  46. I like a ‘Congress of Zombies’ it fits right in with my first thought on the subject which was ‘the Incoming Administration’? Constituency and Electorate are also great!

WV: “herses” which I find somehow apropos, in a phonetic sort of way, given the subject matter…

Hmmm… Perhaps a Hearse of Zombies?
