The breakfast of champions...

Bachelorette Chow: Fried eggs atop corned beef hash, crispy 'round the edges, with a splash of Cholula. Washed down with Vault Zero and the dregs of the morning's coffee. Good for what ails you, as long as what ails you isn't cardiovascular in nature.

I've got to finish loading up some magazines and then run errands. Book reports due soon, too. Ah, my dramatic life...

  1. A friend (retired Army Ranger, wonder if that has anything to do with it?) got me hooked on hash crumbled up and fried crispy, after which you dump beaten eggs with Tabasco on top and scramble it all together. Pour on tomato juice and serve.

Looks kinda like "should I or did I" but tastes great.

  2. Sounds like the kind of breakfast you make ...

... if you plan on taking a day long drive with someone you hate, and can lock the power windows so the poor passenger can't get air from the oncoming gas storm.

If Vault Zero has carbonation, that's all the propellant you need.

Eggs, hash, hot sauce, coffee. I wouldn't be able to stand myself after all that.

  3. Actually, that meal isn't too bad. Eggs are better for you than butter.

  4. I like to do the hashies and mix 'em wiht a little cheese, and use that as the filling for an omelette. You can even make several small ones and wrap 'em in tortilla shells, and they become portable microwaveable snacks.

  5. What? No bacon? Not even turkey bacon?

  6. Sounds better than a protein shake and leftover spaghetti. I really need to go grocery shopping soon.

  7. That is good bachelor chow too! If I ate breakfast like that everyday, I'd be worse off than I am now!

Try Eggs Benedict but instead of ham use cormed beef hash. Goes with baked beans and hash browns for a satisfing way to start the day!

  8. Ooooh, baby. Crispy (almost burnt) fried corned beef hash with two over-easy eggs on top (so the yolk drips throughout the hash) is hands down my favorite breakfast IN...THE...WORLD. Add a couple of pieces of toast and some strong french press coffee and you're set for one helluva good day!

  9. I misread "Cholula" as "Chocula" and thought "chocolate-flavored cereal and eggs don't really go together like that, do they?"

verification word: seepub. See pub? Go pub! Drink much!

  10. That's like my favorite breakfast in the world, too bad it is now forbidden to me. :(

I opt for Tabasco myself, but appreciate the Cholula (my second favorite hotsauce).

  11. You forgot.

You must first fry up at least 6 strips of thick-cut bacon. Then you cook the eggs and hash in the bacon drippings.

  12. My favorite is take 4 eggs and scramble them, dump in good amount of pepper. Dump in some jalapenos and some Blair's After Death Sauce. Add Sharp Cheddar Cheese, A little salt. Serve!

Or do up some French Toast with a shot of Dark Rum in the mix. YUMMY!

  13. Tam: I don't know how you and Roberta feel about spicy stuff, but I'm going on a road trip in about a week, and I'm already stopping in Indy to have lunch, and to drop off some Genuine New Mexico Chile Powders with an expat friend of mine there.

If y'all wanted some, I'd be happy to deliver. It's kinda like hitting the "donate button", only, with delicious pain instead of geld. The email address associated with this post will reach me, in case I forget to check back in to the comment thread. Just in case blogspot is dumb, and doesn't let you view those, it's the publicly shown name, at gmail.
