How do certain people rise to positions of power in direct contradiction to their appearance? I mean there are various folks in this world who look like they were sent from central casting to play "Petty Clerk" or "Nazi Officer" or (in the case of Charles Schumer) "Brain-Devouring Alien From Planet Zoltar".
Rahm Emanuel isn't an elected official, so it's not like he had to charm the voters, yet elected officials with supposedly higher-than-room-temperature IQs and expensive diplomas apparently look at this guy and trust him. How you can trust anyone who is obviously perfectly formed by nature to fit the ecological niche of "Man on your TV at three AM promising to get you the best settlement for your back injury" is beyond me. Seriously, Rahm's got a mug that only the guy selling ad space on the back cover of the phone book could love and yet he's had the ear of not one, but two Presidents, neither of which had slipped and fallen in a grocery store recently.
Well, it takes a whole lot of natural selection before you find a person with the proper wedge-shaped face that allows years of constant contact with the inside slopes of asscheeks, yet still have enough of a rodent-like jawline to allow speech & breathing while attached remora-like to the backside of his betters.
ReplyDeleteLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!
Well, he was elected to Congress from the 5th District in Illinois, so someone must have liked his face. Then again, that was Illinois, so maybe the face thing wasn't all that important.
ReplyDeleteThen again, that was Illinois, so maybe the face thing wasn't all that important.
ReplyDeleteMaybe not the voting thing, either.
Rahm's past history and documented performance matches his "first impression" character.
ReplyDeletelmao, Cap.
ReplyDeleteI'd say he's got a face made for crosshairs, if he maintains his present course.
He is a legal citizen of the state of Israel. That kinda makes him a traitor to both his countries, but:
ReplyDeleteKnow what that makes y'all?
Don't make me link the cartoons.
Enemy, domestic.
ReplyDeleteI'm sort of thinking that Emanuel is the guy actually running the country. . .which is a very disheartening thought. . .Bama seems like a weak person. . .a figurehead, if you will. . . while people like Emanuel do the actual dirty work. . .of course he is unelected in this position, and in many ways unaccountable. . . as we say here in NY. . oy vey!
ReplyDeleteThe Fudgie Ghost
I thought Henry Waxman was the "Brain-Devouring Alien From Planet Zoltar". Schumers just that #$%&@ asshole from New York that knows better than anyone else. And Emanuel...ambulance chaser all the way to the bank.
ReplyDelete"Man on your TV at three AM promising to get you the best settlement for your back injury"
ReplyDeleteHe's the only guy who can get the FIX on the back injuries - because he's the guy who caused them...
"Bama seems like a weak person. . .a figurehead, if you will"
ReplyDeleteFunny, as that's what his role is supposed to be, as anyone who'd care to look at the original playbook would know.
The proles just love Barry's schtick, and are gleefully throwing their underwear at him, like some groupies at a concert.
Fuck the lot of them. My contempt knows no bounds.
Hello - This is a brilliant example of "Imhof's Law of Running Things". It works like a Septic Tank -- all the big chunks rise to the top. The "Chunk" (bHo) rose to the top in Chicago -- moved on to Washington. Now he is gathering the smaller "chunks" around him for the big show. We are about to see the biggest stinking mess you can imagine. We will see just how strong the American people can be. Ron
ReplyDeleteCream rises to the top.
ReplyDeleteSo does scum.
Tam, that's no way to talk about Charles "Chuck U" Schumer...
ReplyDeleteBho has no leadership or management experience, neither does Rahmbo. Usually the COS is hired to be a manager. Emanuael is just a henchman.
wv: cestican a tactician from a cess pool
Nope, President Obama has no experience & has never done anything EXCEPT: (FACTS) 10 YEARS OF SENATE EXPERIENCE (8 state senate 2 federal)with much aisle crossing bi-partisan solutions. In state senate, SPONSORED 780 bills, 280 THAT WERE SIGNED INTO LAW. 100% approval rating: League of conservation Voters, Planned Parenthood. National Education Association gives him an “A” on their most recent scorecard.
ReplyDeleteHis first year as U.S. Senator, Obama held 39 town hall meetings throughout Illinois, and in senate, SPONSORED 152 bills and resolutions, and COSPONSORED 427 more Speaker Harry Reid designated Barack Obama as the Senate POINT MAN ON ETHICS. "Obama is KNOWN FOR UNQUESTIONABLE ETHICS. Graduated first black president of Harvard Law Review.
State senate :
Adds health INSURANCE FOR 20,000 CHILDREN, WELFARE REFORM, Earned income tax credit, increased minimum wage ($5.15 to $6.50). Death penalty reform making interrogations be video taped passed Senate 58-0, SIGNED INTO LAW by governor who first
opposed Obama’s bill. Sponsored bill probing police profiling.
Obama opposed Iraq war PUBLICALLY, long before the invasion. Accurately depicted it as undetermined length, undetermined
cost, undetermined objective, resulting as civil war. Same
assessment Bush Sr. & Dick Cheney both gave in early 90’s.
Federal senate : Worked with republican senator Lugar to EXPAND and AUTHOR program to locate & dismantle stray Russian WMD’s left over from the cold war after the disbanding of the USSR. Jan.07, major ETHICS/LOBBYING REFORM BILL, w/ Russ Feingold insisted tougher measures banning lobbyist gifts/ meals/ jets, disclosure of earmark & contribution bundling to candidates or committees; restricts retiring Congress from going into lobbying Toured Kuwait, Jordan, Israel, Palestinian territories, he told Palestinian Authority Abbas that US would never recognize Hamas leaders until they renounced mission to attack Israel. In Africa, publicly took AIDS test as example of responsibility Obama COSPONSORED Secure Orderly Immigration Act BY JOHN MCCAIN. Called for increased fuel efficiency standards (3% / year). And maybe a couple other things.
Hahahahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteGood stuff, Anonymouse!
"SPONSORED 780 bills, 280 THAT WERE SIGNED INTO LAW."
How does that compare to the average congresscritter?
You don't know, do you? You just thought "Wow, that looks like a big number! I'll copy and paste!"
"100% approval rating: League of conservation Voters, Planned Parenthood. National Education Association gives him an “A” on their most recent scorecard."
Those are bugs, not features.
"he told Palestinian Authority Abbas that US would never recognize Hamas leaders until they renounced mission to attack Israel."
LOL! That's worked out well, hasn't it?
Oh, wowsers, "League of conservation Voters, Planned Parenthood. National Education Association" all love Mr. Obama? What a recommendation! But wait, that's not all! CP-USA slipped him some tongue, too.
ReplyDeleteLCV is just another one of the many groups that wants us to freeze in the dark. You first, Binkie.
The random CAPITALIZATION(!!!) and misspelling just kick over the giggle box for some reason.
ReplyDeleteWell, Blago's looks didn't get him elected Governor twice. And Daley's didn't make him a winner, either.
ReplyDeleteI forget who said, back in the 1800's, about a rival candidate's seriously bad looks, "politics is the refuge of the ugly, but even you abuse the privilege."
I'm guessing that politics was the original gig, before rock stars, where an ugly, stupid guy could go to impress chicks. From what I hear, officeholders have a counterpart to "baseball Annies," women who follow the team to hook up with an athlete.
As someone who is pretty often discriminated against for my appearance( picture third from the left on the evolutionary chart, but chunky and balding) I would prefer people to listen rather than look. You can't judge a book by its cover. That being said it only takes a small crack for the slime to start dripping out of Rahm.
ReplyDeleteAfter that Brady Bunch video, can we start calling him Röhm, or is someone gonna call Godwin?
