Overheard in the office...

Me: "Last night I dreamed I had a motorcycle again... In Manderley."

The dialogue can go all literary geeky in no seconds flat here at Roseholme Cottage.

  2. Vandalay Industries?

George's fake company for the unemployment fraud scheme?

I think she is referencing some castle where my family is from (Cornwall). My ancestors never had motorcycles (or castle). We had fishing boats though.

Beware of domestics with pyromanic tendencies.

  6. My sister and I demand "dork dollars" when either of us says something particularly nerdy. We're also trying to work out a scoring system for Scrabble that awards extra points for esoterica. (No luck so far.)

  9. You want to watch out for that. One moment's lost concentration and you are up Frenchman's Creek without a paddle.
