...at over two grand. The asking price is a mugging, but sometimes a dry noggin is more important than a bitchin' 1911.
I'm still kinda bummed that I never ponied up for a CCA 1911 (the project was only just nearing fruition when I split), but I'll have to take my Springer Pro as a consolation prize...
Is that rust in the close up in the grip screws?
ReplyDeletePossibly. I'd replace them with slotted screws anyway. I've totally hardened my heart against hex-head grip screws in the last few years.
ReplyDeleteAh, but you have one of the rare 9mm LTC GunBlogger Paras, so fret not!

Still think CCA is a good place to get your 1911 worked on? I'm in the market for a new barrel.
ReplyDeleteAl T.
I have not shot it yet *ahem, hint, hint* but Gunsmith Bob @ CCA did a mighty fine job on my nephew's .22lr 1911 frame that I bought off Tam.
ReplyDeleteI believe it's being GunKoted in kewl tactical flat earf brown (it's the new black). Hopefully I'll be able to shoot it and then you can view it here.
Shootin' Buddy
I have a Springfield 1911 which was tricked out back when CCA was Guncraft. Did CCA get a new gunsmith when it changed hands (after I left K-ville)? I like my gun and it runs just fine. Just wondering...
ReplyDeleteShannon is back (he left in early '01) and Bob (Delmore, not Howard, the latter's at Predator Custom now,) is still there.
ReplyDeleteLast month when I was down for a visit, I was looking at some of the latest ones Bob had turned out and was very impressed. They're as nice a custom 1911 as I've seen.
Holy CRAP that is drop-dead gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteIt's times like these that I am glad I live in MA, because I would be in serious shit if I could buy that gun...
Thanks for the linky-love Tam. Unfortunately, the pistol already shipped, to a "gentlemen" who cheated me $50 on the paypal fee. A doctor, no less - really showed his quality with that move.
ReplyDeleteThanks, though,
KsR/Noone
Not to take away from that gun, but I think I am happier with my Springfield Pro (bought used). Thanks God I have not started lusting after custom made 1911s.
ReplyDeleteHe is taking credit for the specs for these pistols? That's a laugh riot! He did not even pick out the grip screws on his own pistol.
ReplyDeleteI stand corrected. He did pick out the grip screws and even the grips for that specific pistol. But he did not have anything to do with the specs or production for any CCA produced (past/present/future) weapons. Heck, the kid can barely pick out a shirt to wear in the morning.
