Legal note:

Illinois does not have CCW reciprocity with Indiana. Illinois does not have CCW reciprocity with anybody. Further, the city of Chicago won't let you own a pistol, much less carry one, unless you're a crazy alderman and just want to wave it around at city council meetings. Even thinking about pistols is a crime in Chicago. Your Indiana toter's permit is no good in Mordor.

  1. A police spokesman says George’s arrest shows a “zero tolerance policy for criminal activity.”

Because you can't throw an innocent man in prison...

  2. A telephone listing for George couldn’t be located today and ...

and I suspect he's not at home to answer the phone? Dear God, just how dumb can reporters be? Wait, wait, don't answer yet.

  3. Dumbass. Everyone knows that decent, law abiding citizens aren't allowed to have guns in Chicago. Only gang bangers can do that. otherwise, how else will Dick the Turd keep people frightened and paying increased taxes for security?

  5. That's why I don't go to the dump that is Chicago anymore.

  6. I'm a teensy bit surprised that anyone who has thought enough about self defense to get a carry gun and a permit, would not have become aware that Chicago is a Stygian hellhole.

  7. He'd have been better off leaving the gun in the car (oops, that's illegal in Chicago too) and going a little further into Chicago to join us at SAFR. We had a grand old time and Snuffy Pfleger showed up to do his Sad Panda routine. I was a little disappointed in the size of our crowd until Snuffy showed up with Ron Holt and two followers holding incoherent signs.

  8. 'Security Checkpoint'?
Sounds as if they had roadblocks with APCs.
    'criminal activity'?
Why are guns the one area where the definitions for 'criminal activity' vary so much from country to country or even state to state?
I mean, theft is a crime everywhere, so is mayhem, fraud, rape, murder.
But when it comes to guns, what's perfectly legal (sometimes even unregulated) on one side of a border can become a serious crime with jailtime on the other side.

    Sorry, that's incomprehensible.

Right. Because they would never tolerate any from of illegal behavior in Chicago...

  10. Does Shrome George have an Indianna carry permit? If he does, the linked article fails to mention it. I would expect a permit holder to be more cautious about where to carry. Going through a metal detector in Chicago while armed sounds like a bad idea.

  13. Another weekend in Chicago, another vote of confidence for their draconian gun control scheme. D
