Shooty Goodness.

What do we do after the gun show?

Go to the range, of course! :)

Off to breakfast in a bit, and then Iggle Crick. And this time I won't have to look at Shootin' Buddy when he's getting his Ruger 22/45 out of the range bag and ask "Did you bring enough for the whole class?"

  3. I'd be interested in knowing how the trigger is on your new 22/45. I couldn't find a Mk. III that didn't have a horrible trigger. When we bought our second one a while back we found a NIB Mk. II in our local gun store that had a decent trigger, but none of the next-gen versions that we tried were even close to decent.

  4. I wouldn't want that trigger in a target pistol, that's for sure. It's not unusable, but it's gotta be six pounds. The break's not awful, though.

The one I got is listed as "P45GCMKIII" in the catalog. It's the fixed-sight model with the 4" slab-sided barrel. Pretty much what I wanted in a trainer, but it's a configuration unamenable to winning bullseye matches.

  5. I just looked up that model online. Rimfire hotness!

  6. About 200 rounds will smooth up the trigger....Or a bit of judicious stoning.

Using the right lube helps after break in.....

But take the time to clean up the sear first.

You can get drop in triggers that will bring you down to about 2.5 lbs, and break like a glass rod, but they are spendy. scabl

  7. Now you need one of these! http://www.gunblast.com/Cliploader.htm.

Unless you *like* sore thumbs, of course.
